Rumors of Rockstar remasters have been circulating the internet for years now, which usually go back and forth between the older games like these and more newer titles like GTA IV and Red Dead Redemption.

While PC and mobile ports are also in development, these may get delayed, per the report.
Kotaktu says this trilogy remaster is currently at the end stages of development, with Rockstar looking to push it out to fans as a digital-only release sometime in October or November this year for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Switch, and Stadia. The graphics style and UI will be faithful to the original games but will include improvements, and the same can be expected for gameplay. Per the report, Rockstar Dundee (formerly Ruffian Games) is the lead developer behind the project, with Unreal Engine being used to remaster the three games.
According to a report by Kotaku citing sources at the studio, remasters of Grand Theft Auto III (2001), Grand Theft Auto Vice City (2002), and Grand Theft Auto San Andreas (2004) are in development. Its in UE4 with visual & gameplay enhancements. EDIT : Itll be advertised as remaster but its more than a simple resolution bump. I dont think it will be on par with GTA V but its definitely more than a simple port with increased resolution. While a new Grand Theft Auto game may not be coming out anytime soon, with the acclaimed fifth entry still getting re-releases, Rockstar Games may be planning to put forth a remastered collection of its older hits. Its remade remastered in Unreal Engine 4.
